Russell Walletts Hunt.

14 March 2010.

Long time client and friend Russell Wallett joined us on the 14^th of March 2010 for his 11^th trip to Lowlands. He was accompanied by his son Byron Wallett, Niece Gillian Bredenkamp and her husband Eugene. Also attending were friends Johan Van Der Vyver and Russel Larnder.

Gillian and Eugene were new clients to us and we welcome them to Lowlands and hope they will be back.

We had a hugely successful hunt and guides Roy Barnes and Dino Racitti did wonderful jobs. A grand total of 17 animals were taken and these were:

1 Bushpig

1 Warthog

5 Impala

3 Blesbuck

2 Kudu Bulls (1 with bow and arrow)

2 Blue Wildebeest Bulls (Both with bow and arrow)

1 Common Reedbuck Ram (Rowland Ward Trophy)

1 Red Hartebeest Bull (Rowland Ward Trophy)

1 Black Wildebeest Bull

They highlight of the hunt was Russell bagging his Bushpig on a walk and stalk night hunt at Dalton Private Game Reserve. An exciting event especially when following the dogs into the long grass and putting the final shot into the pig. Well done to Russell especially after hunting Bushpig for 11 years and not being successful.

Eugene also did very well with the bow and arrow claiming a Kudu Bull and Blue Wildebeest Bull with his Mathews Monster.

Johan Van der Vyver shot the trophy of the trip with a 14.75 inch Common Reedbuck. Good Trophy.
